A Tucson music store is giving Southern Arizona middle schools the chance to win more than $13,000 in brass instruments.
Instrumental Music Center is running a Facebook contest, awarding a tuba, a double F horn, a baritone, two trombones and a trumpet to the school with the most votes by 5 p.m. April 1.
The band director of the winning school will also receive an all-expenses paid trip to the Conn-Selmer Institute where they will attend an educational seminar.
The six brass instruments were donated by vendors.
Second and third place middle schools will receive $300 and $100 IMC gift certificates.
“We know the value of music in a well-rounded education,” said Leslie Faltin, owner of Instrumental Music Center. “This donation is an amazing chance to give a local music program in need the right equipment that will help students for years to come.”
