The nonprofit Live Acoustic Venue Association - aka LAVA Music - concludes its fall series at Abounding Grace Sanctuary on Saturday evening with a show by Teodoro "Ted" Ramirez.
Ramirez is a folk musician, singer, songwriter and storyteller.
His family history in the Southwest dates back to the mid-1600s, and his heritage includes both indigenous and European roots.
In the mid-1980s Ramirez founded the celebrated "Santa Cruz River Band," a Southwestern folk music band featuring Ramirez, Mike Ronstadt, Gilbert Brown and the late Arthur Miscione. Ramirez also created and hosted the "Sounds of Arizona," a folk music radio program that aired for 10 years on 580-AM.
Ramirez is Tucson's "official troubadour" and the artist in residence at the Tubac Historic Presidio Park. He also is the recipient of the prestigious "Arizona Culture Keeper Award," the "Governor's Heritage Award" and many other cultural-preservation awards.

The show is 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Abounding Grace, 2450 S. Kolb Road (see box for ticket prices and more information).
This is the last show in LAVA's 10-concert fall series. A new series will start at Abounding Grace on Jan. 12 with the Minnesota bluegrass band Monroe Crossing.
