Care Fair will be offered to Marana families
The Marana Unified School District and MHC Healthcare will sponsor a care fair on Aug. 2.
The Marana Care Fair will be from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Marana Middle School, 11279 W. Grier Road. Free immunizations for students in grades K-12 will be provided. Families must bring immunization records.
Dental information and information regarding AHCCCS and KidsCare also will be available.
School sports physicals for students in grades seven through 12 will be offered for $20. Only cash will be accepted, and students must wear shorts and tank tops.
Mtn. View's Heffelfinger picked for NRA program
A Mountain View High School student was selected to participate in a National Rifle Association youth program in Washington, D.C., earlier this month.

Levi Heffelfinger was one of 45 students from across the country chosen to take part in the NRA's National Youth Education Summit. He learned about the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
He was selected for the program based on an application, an essay on the Second Amendment, a personal statement and personal recommendations.
Heffelfinger previously was named Youth Conservationist of the Year by the Arizona Game and Fish Commission. He has hunted elk, mule deer, white-tailed deer, javelinas, Corsican sheep and other small game.
FW teacher takes part in UA financial conference
A Flowing Wells High School teacher was one of the more than 100 educators who took part in a financial conference last month at the University of Arizona.
Yvonne Bernino's participation in the university's Family Economics and Financial Education project trained her to teach a "Taking Charge of Your Finances" course.
Bernino teaches family and consumer-science education as well as culinary arts at Flowing Wells.
