Have you ever experienced a bassoon quartet? The sound is like nothing else - in a good way.
You have the opportunity to hear the Maderas Bassoon Quartet at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Music Center at St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church, 4440 N. Campbell Ave.
The ensemble, composed of bassoonists Lisa Renteria, Jessica Campbell, Rebecca Cain and Cassandra Bendickson, will perform their program "Bach to the Beatles" featuring some Baroque, a little Mozart and a smattering of other composers.
All four bassoonists are teachers with the Opening Minds through the Arts (OMA) program of the Tucson Unified School District.
Cain and Campbell are members of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, and Bendickson and Renteria perform in other orchestras and chamber music ensembles in Tucson.

Admission is by donation to St. Philip's Friends of Music (suggested amount is $15).
