The third annual Thin Mint Sprint is set for Sunday, Sept. 28, and as usual, there are sweet rewards for finishing the 5K run.
The Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona are once again hosting the event at Brandi Fenton Memorial Park, 3482 E. River Road. Along with a 5-kilometer (3.1 mile) Thin Mint Run, there’s a 1-mile Rah Rah Raisin event.
Runners and walkers of all speeds are invited, and the reward for crossing the finish line will be a Girl Scout cookie.
The races, which follow a flat out-and-back route through the park and the Rillito River Trail, start at 7:30 a.m.
In addition to the races, a free 100-meter “Doc Dash” for children 6 and younger will be offered.
Registration is $20 for children under 12 and $25 for general admission before Friday, Sept. 26.
