LVN certification and associates degree in general studies
None
I started as a Candy Striper at age 16 during the summer of 1968. After graduating from high school in 1970, I worked as an NA in a nursing home every summer. In 1973, I graduated from Sacramento City College with LVN certification and in 1974, with an associate’s degree in general studies. July 1973, I worked as LVN at Mercy General Hospital mostly in ICU areas (medical, surgical and cardiac) as a float nurse. I moved to Tucson and was hired at University Medical Center August 1981(now Banner University Medical Center Tucson). I continue to work as float nurse, mostly in ICU areas then cancer/bone marrow floor before going to emergency department. I received LPN of the year award 1984 and employee of the month a few years later. So far, I have 53 years in nursing. It’s obvious I love nursing!
