Three days after receiving a name, the Tucson Roadrunners now have a coaching staff to go along with it.
Mark Lamb has been hired as the coach of the local Arizona Coyotes AHL affiliate, franchise general manager John Chayka announced Tuesday. The team also announced that Mark Hardy has been named as assistant coach for Tucson's new professional hockey team.
“We are very pleased to add Mark Lamb as our head coach for the Tucson Roadrunners,” Chayka said in a release. “Mark is an experienced NHL coach who did an excellent job developing young players in Swift Current for many years. He previously worked with Dave Tippett in Dallas and we are confident that this will be a great fit for our organization.”
Lamb, 51, previously spent six seasons as an assistant under Tippett with the Dallas Stars from 2002-2009, helping the club with two Pacific Division titles.
