It wasn't all bad news for the Arizona Wildcats on Tuesday.
Despite being eliminated from the NCAA Tournament, the Wildcats had several players selected in the Major League Baseball Draft.
Through 14 rounds of the 50-round draft, Arizona had five players selected: RHP Kyle Simon, LHP Bryce Bandilla, 1B Cole Frenzel, SS Andy Burns and LHP Matt Chafee.
Simon was the first Wildcat taken. The junior was selected No. 125 overall by the Baltimore Orioles after going 11-3 with a 2.73 ERA in 18 starts for Arizona this season.
He hurled five complete games and had 86 strikeouts in 128 2/3 innings.
Simon was selected minutes before his team's NCAA Tournament game against Texas A&M, which started at 10:30 a.m.
