Do you miss having a CD player in your new car and listening to audiobooks on your trips? DesertView Library now has portable Car CD Players available for check-out. They work in most new vehicles and plug into your main USB port and play through your radio. The units can be checked out for 28 days, which is the same check-out period for an audiobook. Come into the library to check out a unit. You can reserve one on your account on the library website at sblibraries.com. The units are in a handy carrying case and instructions are included. The units were purchase with funds from the Friends of the SaddleBrooke Libraries.
Now that you have the option of borrowing a CD player, think about all the CDs that are available at the DesertView Library. The collection includes a lot of Fiction titles and some very good non-fiction ones, too. They can be found in the last aisle on the right at DesertView. You can choose from over 1000 titles!

Living in SaddleBrooke makes for longer trips to our destinations—and not just road vacations. With snowbirds back in town and road construction, your typical trip may take more time. A good CD may help you enjoy your journey about town. But always pay attention to where you are and how to get there!
Typically, a handful of CD titles arrive at the library every month. These audiobooks are chosen by their popularity, narration, positive reviews, cost and/or timely availability. In the past quarter, we have received: Picoult’s “By Any Other Name”, Baldacci’s “Calamity of Souls”, Spark’s “Counting Miracles”, Atkins’ “Don’t Let the Devil Ride”, Crichton’s “Eruption”, Rooney’s “Intermezzo”, Haig’s “Life Impossible”, Dave’s “Night We Lost Him” and Strout’s “Tell Me Everything”.
Friends of SaddleBrooke Libraries (FSL) provide the funding to purchase new books, DVDs and audiobooks for the SaddleBrooke Community Libraries. If you are not a member of FSL, learn more at their website at sbfsl.org.
Watch the roads and listen as you go—happy and safe travels!
