Casa Molina, a prominent Mexican restaurant on the east side easily recognized by its life-sized bull and matador statue out front, is facing foreclosure.
The owners of the restaurant at 6225 E. Speedway, near North Wilmot Road, are delinquent on a loan with an original principal balance of $450,000, documents filed in the Pima County Recorder's Office show.
The beneficiary on that loan, which was recorded in March 2007, is SFG Income Fund VI LLC, a business finance group out of Bellevue, Wash.
The borrower is Casa Molina Inc., whose managers include Angela Molina Lord, Elizabeth A. Molina and Gilberto F. Molina, according to Arizona Corporation Commission documents.
The owners did not respond to phone calls Tuesday afternoon requesting comment about the foreclosure notice.
