Just in time for fall break, Harkins Arizona Pavilions 12 theaters in Marana is giving fall-breakers a ganga deal and a good excuse to hang out at the movies.
Admission to any movie — matinee or midnight showing — is $5 a person, but the deal is only good at the Marana theater, 5755 W. Arizona Pavilions Drive, off Cortaro Road and Interstate 10.
According to Harkins Facebook posting, the deal is good through the month of October and only at the Marana theater.
Harkins has been in Marana since 2013 when it took over and renovated the financially strapped independently-owned Tower Theaters, Tower had limped along through six years difficult years including filing bankruptcy to narrowly avoid foreclosure.
Harkins's $5 ticket beats its nearest competitor, AMC Loews Foothills 15, which in August 2015 dropped ticket prices to $5.99, $3.99 for matinees. Harkins charges $7 for matinees, $9 for all other shows with discounts for kids and students.
