It was a dark and stormy night.
The play opens as Brad and Janet leave a friend's wedding. Nerdy, asexual Brad drops to one knee and proposes. Uptight Janet accepts.
They head off to tell their old college professor, but the car breaks down. They head to the nearest house with a light on, a creepy castle.
The door is opened by a very strange man. That would be Riff Raff. He invites them in, and before long they meet Frank N. Furter, a transvestite from the planet Transsexual in the galaxy of Transylvania.
Furter invites them to check out his new experiment - the ideal man, chock-full of muscles and well-endowed. He's called Rocky Horror.
All sorts of odd things go on in this house. As well as lots of rock 'n' roll, seductions, flashing lights and a stitched-up rock 'n' roller named Eddie who may well have provided a few parts for Rocky. Furter decides to do away with Eddie once and for all and goes after him with a chain saw.
Brad and Janet are in a tizzy. They don't know what's going on. They never, ever, have witnessed such decadence. Never. And things only get more bizarre when their old college teacher, Professor Scott, turns up searching for his missing nephew, Eddie.
Then Riff Raff and his sister, Magenta - with whom he has a very unsisterly relationship - decide that Furter has botched this mission, and they are taking over and returning to Transylvania.
Throughout, there are songs, dances (the Time Warp) and deliciously odd goings-on.
