Campus Candy at Main Gate Square is giving away free frozen yogurt from 1 to 9 p.m. today.
We’re not talking a spoonful sample: They’re dishing up 16-ounce cups topped with your choice of 500 toppings.
There’s more: You also can come back for seconds.

“We’re trying to promote that we carry frozen yogurt,” says Campus Candy’s Gabe Ibarra, who runs the store and is regional manager for the company’s five other college-town locations around the country.
Campus Candy has offered frozen yogurt since it opened almost nearly two years ago at 910 E. University Blvd. But the machines are in the back of the store out of view of customers so many people don’t know to ask for it, Ibarra said.

“We’re going to add more yogurt machines by the end of the year,” he said.
During today’s promotion, you can choose from cake batter, chocolate, pomegranate or original tart. Toppings include candies — the store offers 500 different varieties of candy — fresh fruit, nuts and granola.
Campus Candy opened its first location in Bloomington, Ind., in spring 2010. Since then it has opened stores in Madison, Wisc., Austin, Texas, College Station, Pa., and Tucson — the only West Coast location. Two other stores are under construction.
The free frozen yogurt promotion is happening today at all of Campus Candy locations, Ibarra said.
