El Charro Café is preparing to open a restaurant in Sahuarita in time for Cinco de Mayo.
The family-owned business already has four cafes throughout the Tucson area, and on Tuesday it celebrated the official opening of Sir Veza's Taco Garage, a new casual concept eatery at 4699 E. Speedway.
El Charro Café Rancho Sahuarita will open in a new 4,500-square-foot space in the Rancho Sahuarita Marketplace and Village, at 15920 S. Rancho Sahuarita Blvd.
Ray Flores, the company's president, said the restaurant will include a private dining room, an indoor-outdoor bar, retail space and a patio. The capacity is 225 indoors and on the patio.
The Sahuarita eatery will resemble the two newer cafe locations, at 7725 N. Oracle Road and 6910 E. Sunrise Drive, he said.
No other restaurants were in the works for the Tucson area this year, Flores said, but he would consider expanding to Phoenix.
