Steakhouse closes for remodel, remake
A Steak in the Neighborhood downtown closed last weekend "for a remodel," according to a prerecorded message on the business's phone lines.
But a note posted Sunday on its Facebook page says the closing is in anticipation of launching a new concept for the space at 135 E. Congress St.
"We are working on a new concept, so keep an eye on this page for more information," it reported early Sunday morning.
Owner Luke Cusack could not be reached for comment. A woman who answered the phone at Cusack's business office would not say what was planned for the restaurant beyond confirming it had closed.
Cusack opened A Steak in the Neighborhood in December 2009. He also owns the night clubs Sapphire at 61 E. Congress St.; Zen Rock, 121 E. Congress St.; and Lindy's at Redline Sports Grill & RPM Nightclub, 445 W. Wetmore Road.
