If you caught the indie rock trio Civil Twilight at last April's KFMA Day and said to yourself, "I would love to see them on a headline bill by themselves," you're in luck.
On Monday, the South Africa-born, Los Angeles-based outfit returns for a gig at Club Congress, presented by KFMA. The Tucson radio station must have been pretty impressed with the band's April performance to bring it back so soon.
Civil Twilight returns in support of its sophomore album, "Holy Weather." The record dropped weeks before KFMA Day, so chances are the band played only a couple cuts. Expect to hear more of the disc - which has hints of electronica and dance intermingled with some harder-driving rock. There are remnants of garage and prog rock, and some hazy atmospheric glowing that might even remind you of Brit rock, circa 1970.
The trio formed in 1996 and released its eponymous debut in 2007, two years after moving to the United States. They got an early career boost when several songs from that disc landed on TV in "One Tree Hill," "Terminators: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" and "The Vampire Diaries."

The success sent Civil Twilight on a whirlwind tour of TV appearances including "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and coverage on network television and in the Huffington Post, Hollywood Life and Billboard magazine.
Fellow L.A. indie rockers Voxhaul Broadcast open Monday's show. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and admission is $9.21 - playing off KFMA's 92.1 position on the FM dial. Details: www.hotelcongress.com
