Two Arizona men were arrested in separate drug smuggling incidents Monday on the border, federal officials said.
A 22-year-old Nogales, Ariz., man was sent to secondary inspection as he drove through the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry in an SUV. Officers searching his vehicle discovered 28 packages — about 30 pounds — of methamphetamine in a hidden compartment in a trailer he was towing, according to a news release from Customs and Border Protection.
The drugs have a street value of $91,000.
Marco Antonio Moreno-Ramirez was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations. His vehicle and the drugs were seized.
In the second incident a 61-year-old Glendale man was arrested at the Lukeville port in connection with a failed smuggling attempt, a CBP news release said.

John Walter Swanson was sent to secondary inspection at the crossing. Agents there located 27 bundles of marijuana weighing about 600 pounds in his RV, the news release said.
The drugs have a street value of about $300,000, the CBP said. The vehicle and drugs were seized. Swanson was referred to ICE's Homeland Security Investigations.
