President Donald Trump spoke briefly Tuesday about the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of NBC "Today" show host Savannah Guthrie.
"I think it's a terrible thing," Trump said in the Oval Office of what authorities are investigating as an abduction of the 84-year-old mother from her Tucson home.
Trump said he intends to call Savannah Guthrie.
Asked if he could commit more federal agents to investigate the case, he responded: “Sure. I’m going to call her later on. I think it’s a terrible thing. I always got along very good with Savannah. Very unusual situation, but we’re going to get to the bottom of it.”
The FBI has said it is assisting the Pima County Sheriff's Department's investigation of the case, with the federal agency providing analytical and technical support.
