A huge rummage sale that raises more than $100,000 every year for dozens of local charities runs Thursday through Saturday.
The 25th annual Desert Skies Methodist Church flea market, at 3255 N. Houghton Road, runs from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 7 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Thousands of items will be available at the sale, which covers six acres outdoors and 10,000 square feet indoors.
Last year's sale raised more than $115,000 for more than 30 local charities.
Beneficiaries include women's shelters, a program that provides food for local children, and a program that gives dictionaries to kids, said event co-chairman Max Crowell.
There will even be vehicles for sale. You can sell your car, truck, boat or other vehicle there for a small, tax-deductible fee (only if it sells) to the church. The fee is 10 percent of the sale price, not to exceed $500.
