A 22-year-old woman convicted of first-degree murder in the death of her father was sentenced to life in prison Monday with the possibility of parole after 25 years.
Linda Garcia was also sentenced to an additional 14 years for burglarizing her father's house and stealing his truck, but those sentences will be served concurrently, said prosecutor Kellie Johnson.
According to Tucson police, Garcia beat her father repeatedly with a baseball bat in December 2004 after he kicked her 16-year-old boyfriend out of his house twice.
When he did not immediately die, the boyfriend, Jose Carlos Cruz, stabbed him 17 times.
Lauro Garcia's body was found on his bedroom floor Dec. 23, 2004.
Tucson police tracked Linda Garcia and Cruz to Cruz's parents' home in Casa Grande after learning the pair had been stopped by Eloy police while driving Lauro Garcia's truck.

Detective Ben Jimenez testified he called Linda Garcia the night her father's body was found and although he told her he was investigating an incident involving her father, she asked neither about her dad's well-being nor what the investigation was about.
Tucson police Sgt. Fabian Pacheco testified he found $403 hidden in a compact-disc holder in Cruz's room five days after the slaying, along with a new CD player.
Cruz was found guilty of the same charges as Garcia, and Judge Howard Hantman gave him the same sentence in July.
