Gabriel Ayala and Will Clipman will perform a special concert Saturday at Abounding Grace Sanctuary to celebrate the release of their new "Passion, Fire & Grace" CD in the next installment of the Live Acoustic Venue Association's fall concert series.
The pair, who perform as Duo Sonora, will play from 7 to 9 p.m. at Abounding Grace Sanctuary, 2450 S. Kolb Road, just north of East Golf Links Road on the west side of Kolb.
Ayala, a member of the Yaqui people of Southern Arizona, is an award-winning classical guitarist. He started playing the guitar as a child and went on to earn a master's degree in music performance from the University of Arizona.
Performing well outside the boundaries of traditional American Indian music, Ayala's style includes elements of classical, jazz, tango and flamenco, and he includes many of his own compositions in the mix.

Also starting at a young age, Clipman began playing drums at age 3 and writing poetry at 6.
Clipman is a four-time Grammy nominee and a two-time Native American Music Award winner. He has recorded more than 50 albums.
Though Ayala and Clipman play together as Duo Sonora, their sound is much larger than the term "duo" suggests.
Admission to the concert is $15 cash or check at the door.
RSVP is recommended via e-mail to bonnie@lava music.org or 647-3234.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Please arrive early for best seating.
