The setting is breathtaking, the entertainment is classic and the price is right.
Loews Ventana Canyon Resort's Date Night movie series features Friday night screenings of a variety of movies, from classics such as "Bringing Up Baby" and "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," to modern romances such as "Chocolat."
For free.
"We've always done dive-in movies in the pool during the summer for kids," said Jennifer Duffy, a resort spokeswoman. "We noticed adults showing up at the kids' movies with a glass of wine, so we decided to create Date Night."
Duffy estimated about 20 people have been turning out for each free show, beginning May 22 with "His Girl Friday." Moviegoers can also take advantage of a pre-movie dinner special at the Flying V Bar & Grill and drink specials in the lounge during the movie.

"It's kind of fun," Duffy said.
E.J. Millstone and her husband Jason Bridgmon — who have two sons — arranged a night on their own Friday to see Keira Knightley in the 2005 adaptation of Jane Austen's "Pride & Prejudice" at Loews.
"It was great," said Millstone. "It's a good deal."
"It's only going on through September, so we'd like to come to a couple of more," Bridgmon said. "I wish there were a few more things like this going on in Tucson."
Next up for Date Night is the Judy Garland musical "Meet Me in St. Louis" at 8 p.m. Friday, followed in the coming weeks by "Roman Holiday," "Singin' in the Rain" and "Manhattan Murder Mystery."
Date Night movie season ends Sept. 4 with Gene Kelly in "Brigadoon."
