"Step right, lock left behind, step right, scuff left next to right, touch left next to right."
Those are some of the instructions Art Corral of Line Dance Parties calls into a microphone at the Music Box Lounge on Wednesday evenings, when he and his wife, Elaine, teach beginning line-dance classes.
The Music Box is at 6951 E. 22nd St.
Last week a small group - four students - each paid $3 for an hour of instruction, which amounted to three or four various dances.
"These are easy line dances that don't take a lot of coordination … I try to do the easier ones," said Corral, who has been teaching for the past two years.
"I try to get the blood flowing and it's a good way to knock off a few calories," he said. "We have a good time and we meet some really nice people."

Corral picks up some students from the Cactus Moon, 5470 E. Broadway, a popular line-dancing venue.
"We meet most of the line dancers over at the Cactus Moon. There is quite a group of people there, so what we've tried to do is to try and teach people to start here with the beginning, easy stuff, so that they can graduate and go to the Cactus Moon and have a good time," he said.
Corral teaches at the Music Box Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and has started teaching at the Wildcat House, 1801 N. Stone Ave., on Friday nights from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Students can also take home a step-by-step instruction guide of the dances they did that night.
"We aren't out to make a lot of money. We are just having a good time," Corral said.
Dance student Susie Keilholtz, who has been dancing for a year, took the class because she noticed how popular line dancing is.
"I went on a cruise with my daughter and son-in-law and everyone on the cruise knew how to do the Electric Slide and I didn't," she said. "And I said, "Never again will I be standing on the sidelines.' "
Now she knows a dozen dances in addition to the Electric Slide.
