The original owners of Le Delice at 7245 E. Tanque Verde Road posted a note on the door last week saying the French boulangerie and restaurant had closed.
“Dear customers We are sorry, to inform you that Le Delice is closed. We want to thank you for your past business and how much we enjoyed having you as a customer” — signed Maurice and Nicole Cochard.
The couple opened Le Delice in 2001 and sold it in 2006. They reacquired it in 2008 and ran it for one year before selling it in October 2009. When those owners abandoned it on Oct. 1, 2010, the Cochards returned from France to reclaim the eatery.
As of Friday, the banner proclaiming “Welcome back! Maurice and Nicole” that was posted on their last return, continued to hang from the building.
