The National Border Patrol Council has endorsed U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani for reelection in Arizona’s 6th Congressional District, where he faces a challenge Tuesday in the GOP primary from Kathleen Winn.
At a news conference Friday in Tucson, National Border Patrol Council members highlighted Ciscomani’s “proactive efforts in providing the Border Patrol with the necessary tools and resources to effectively manage and secure the border,” a news release said. The release included these quotes:
“Juan Ciscomani understands the challenges we face on the frontline every day,” said Hector Andujo, NBPC chapter president. “He has fought tirelessly to ensure that we have the support needed to combat the ongoing crisis at our borders.”
“With Juan in Congress, we have a fierce advocate who prioritizes the well-being of our agents and the safety of our communities,” said Art Del Cueto, vice president of the National Border Patrol Council.

First-term House member Ciscomani said, “It is an honor to stand with the men and women who protect our borders. Their safety and the security of every Arizonan are my top priorities. We will continue to push for robust border policies that address the real challenges of our immigration system while ensuring our communities thrive.”
Winn has said securing the border is a top priority for her.
At a June 5 campaign event, referring to immigration to the U.S., she said, “At what point do you say ‘this is a terrorist act and it needs to stop?’”
Congressional District 6 includes eastern Pima County, including most of Tucson, and most of Cochise County. The Republican primary winner will face Democrat Kirsten Engel in the November general election.
