This is the second week during which the Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Showcase will overlap with major Interstate 10 widening work in Tucson.
In addition to work-related restrictions, drivers should remember that the speed limit on the frontage road Downtown from West Congress Street to West 29th Street will be reduced to 25 mph through Feb. 17.
The interstate project entails widening I-10 to four lanes in each direction from West Prince Road to West 29th Street, and rebuilding several bridges in between.
During the gem shows, construction will be kept to a minimum during the day and will largely take place from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Officials encourage gem-show attendees to use the city's free GemRide service to get to shows around town. This week, in addition to ongoing lane restrictions throughout the work area, watch for:

Grant Road
West Grant Road is scheduled to close at I-10 each night Tuesday through Friday. The closures are scheduled from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily.
Speedway
West Speedway is scheduled to close at I-10 Monday night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
St. Mary's Road
West St. Mary's Road is scheduled to close at I-10 Saturday from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Clark Street
A temporary signal was installed at Clark Street for pedestrians and eastbound traffic. The street will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily during the gem shows. No pedestrian or vehicle traffic will be allowed from 8 p.m. to 8:30 a.m.
West 22nd Street
Eastbound 22nd Street is scheduled to close Monday night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Eastbound I-10 frontage road
The left lane of the eastbound frontage road, north of Grant Road, is scheduled to close Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
The left lane of the eastbound frontage road, north of Speedway, is scheduled to close nightly Monday through Wednesday from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The left lane of the eastbound frontage road, north of St. Mary's Road, is scheduled to close daily Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The left lane of the eastbound frontage road, south of St. Mary's Road, is scheduled to close Monday night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The left lane of the eastbound frontage road, at St. Mary's Road, is scheduled to close Saturday from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Westbound I-10 frontage road
The left lane of the westbound frontage road at 18th Street is scheduled to close periodically between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. nightly, Monday through Friday.
The left lane of the westbound frontage road is scheduled to close from 25th Street to 29th Street Monday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night.
Eastbound I-10
The eastbound ramps from the West Prince Road entrance ramp to 29th Street remain closed.
Westbound I-10
The westbound I-10 ramps from the South Sixth Avenue on-ramp to the Prince Road exit-ramp remain closed. The exit ramp at 29th Street is open, but the right lane is scheduled to close Monday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
