Community to host foreclosure seminar
Several community groups have joined to host a free foreclosure-prevention workshop from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Picture Rocks Community Center, 5615 N. Sanders Road.
Homeowners who are struggling to make their mortgage payments are invited. Sign-in begins at 9 a.m., and the presentation will be followed by refreshments and one-on-one discussions with resource people.

NW Fire hosts town hall meeting tonight
Northwest Fire District officials will host a town hall discussion at 6:30 p.m. today in Marana's Heritage Highlands Clubhouse, 4949 W. Heritage Club Blvd.

District officials hope the meeting will attract residents and business owners for discussions about the effect of current economic conditions on taxes and the level of services provided by Northwest Fire.
Taxpayers will have a chance to ask questions and give input on which fire district services they value most.
Four more town-hall-style meetings are planned in the Continental Ranch, Flowing Wells and Tucson Mountains areas, on April 20, April 22, May 5 and May 6, at locations yet to be determined.

Northwest
Roadwork continuing for two more weeks
The Pima County transportation department and contractor Granite Construction are preparing West Ina Road between North Camino Cielo and North Camino de la Tierra for microsealing work that is scheduled to take place beginning April 13.
The project is the first in Pima County funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 - stimulus funds - according to a transportation department press release.
The prep work began March 30, and the project is expected to take about three weeks at a cost of $1 million. The project is affecting traffic.
Milling and paving work is expected to take place from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Monday, and the microsealing will take place from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 13 through April 22.
Flag workers and detour signs are in place during the work, and drivers are asked to approach the area with caution.
Pinal County
Saturday is 'Free Dump Day'
Pinal County is sponsoring a free day at the dump Saturday to help residents clear their homes and yards of unwanted clutter.
The county is hosting the free dump day at four of its landfills at various times. In Southern Pinal County, residents can dump their refuse for free between 8 a.m. and noon at the Ironwood Landfill, 12720 Highway 87 in Florence.
Commercial loads will not be accepted at any of the participating landfills. Also, tires, motor oil, paint, refrigerators and hazardous materials will not be accepted.
The county plans to hold another free dump day in November.
