MARANA
1 A 14-year-old girl was cited on suspicion of curfew violation at 1:11 a.m. July 28 in the 7200 block of West Mapleridge Drive. A resident told police the following: His barking dogs woke him up. He looked out the living room window and saw a girl hiding behind a column next to his front door. She told him she was hiding from the police and was scared. A backpack was on the ground next to the girl, according to the report. The girl told police she had been walking to a friend's house with her brother. He walked away from her while she was on the phone. She did not know what to do and hid behind the column. She was carrying her brother's backpack but said she did not know what was inside. The backpack contained a can of beer. The girl was cited on suspicion of minor in possession of alcohol and released to her mother.
2 Theft from a truck was reported at 4:03 p.m. July 27 at Motel 6, 4630 W. Ina Road. The owner told police she had a flat tire about 8 p.m. the previous night and parked her truck in the motel parking lot. She could not find an open tire store nearby and left the truck in the lot overnight. She discovered the locks were punched out when she returned to fix the flat at 4 p.m. A bank bag containing $220 was stolen from the center console.

3 A 2003 Chevrolet Suburban was reported stolen at 11 a.m. July 17 in the 5400 block of West Copperhead Drive. The owner told police he was visiting a resident there and parked in the driveway. He said a spare set of keys were inside the vehicle and he may have left it unlocked.
PIMA COUNTY
4 Suspicious activity was reported at 12:48 a.m. July 16 at Casa Madera Apartment Homes, 7374 N. Mona Lisa Road. A resident said he saw a man inside his neighbor's car. The owner told deputies the man ransacked the inside of his car but he was unsure if anything had been stolen.
5 Theft was reported at 2:13 p.m. July 16 at a vacant house in the 5500 block of North Silver Stream Way. A neighbor told deputies she saw two men carrying a washer and a dryer out of the house about 1:45 p.m. She said the men loaded the appliances into a Nissan truck. Another neighbor told deputies she'd earlier seen two men carrying a range and oven out the front door. Deputies were unable to locate the contractor box that contained keys for the house. There were no signs of forced entry.
ORO VALLEY
6 Criminal damage was reported at 6:03 a.m. July 25 at Oro Valley Country Club, 300 W. Greenock Drive. The golf course superintendent told police someone drove on the fairway grass at the first hole and damaged it. He said it would cost an estimated $500 to fix the grass.
7 Fraud was reported at 9:40 a.m. July 21 at a business at 7980 N. Oracle Road. The business owner told police the following: On July 20, he received a call at 2 p.m. from a man who claimed to work for Tucson Electric Power Co. The man told him he failed to sign his payment check and convinced him to pay with a credit card. After the call, he tried to buy gasoline but his credit card was rejected. He discovered the bank placed a hold on his account after two online charges for $50 each were made at 2:30 p.m.
