A wildfire in Southeastern Arizona has continued to grow while another blaze near Arivaca is almost contained, fire officials said Friday.
The Horseshoe 2 Fire, near Portal, grew Friday to 134,615 acres, fire officials said.
More than 20 buildings have been damaged or destroyed by the blaze, including nine homes, officials said.
The fire, which is 45 percent contained, forced temporary evacuations in Cave Creek Canyon, Paradise, Whitetail Canyon, West Turkey Creek and West Pinery Canyon.
Authorities lifted the evacuations after the fire moved past those areas.
Authorities also closed the Chiricahua National Monument in the northern portion of the fire.
