The Buffalo Bills and teams around the NFL began assembling their practice squads Wednesday.Â
The Bills announced 14 players for the 16 maximum spots. The notable name that appears to be missing is linebacker Christian Kirksey, who is signing with the Bills, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
General manager Brandon Beane said Kirksey needs to pass a physical before he is signed.Â
Kirksey, who turns 31 on Thursday, was a surprise cut by the Houston Texans this week. He was third on the team with 124 tackles in 17 games last season. He was in Cleveland for six seasons, Green Bay for one and spent the last two in Houston. His career totals: 778 tackles, 16.5 sacks and seven interceptions.
The final player added will be a quarterback and Beane is hoping to have that finalized by Thursday. "It's in motion," he said.
