It has been reported that SCOTUS Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson disclosed having received four free concert tickets from Beyoncé valued at $3,700. And, that Jackson is to receive $900,000 as an advance on her memoir "Lovely One" scheduled to be released in September. Jackson also disclosed two gifts of artwork in her chambers worth $12,500. Last year, Jackson, who was appointed to the court in 2022, disclosed more than $6,500 in clothes received from a photo shoot and a $1,200 floral gift from Oprah Winfrey. No outrage expressed about all this by ProPublica, AOC or Democrat Senator Chucky Schumer, who have all repeatedly attacked Justice Thomas and other conservative Justices for their receiving of "lavish" gifts over the years. Can you say hypocrites? The fact of the matter is that SCOTUS Justices have always received gifts of various types, some even from those who had cases before the court. Until there is Congressional legislation barring such gifts, the practice will continue.
