Jet Pack International, a Colorado company that makes a strap-on flying pack, put on a promotional flight in Casa Grande on Tuesday afternoon. Go Fast, an energy drink, is sponsoring the flights.
The company's 800-horsepower, hydrogen-peroxide-powered flight pack was used to set a jet-pack flying record, traveling 1,500 feet while crossing the Royal Gorge near Cañon City, Colo., on Nov. 24
The company has developed two hydrogen-peroxide jet-pack models, including one that can fly for an estimated 33 seconds and another that can go for up to 43 seconds.
A third model runs on jet fuel and can stay aloft for an estimated nine minutes, with a price tag of $200,000, including training.
Tuesday's flight took place at the Express Stop convenience store, 1000 W. Gila Bend Highway. The company plans another promotional flight in Tucson on Friday.
