Rinella returns as GM
of Reid Park DoubleTree
John Rinella was named general manager of the DoubleTree Hotel Tucson at Reid Park, a position he also held from 1997 to 2001.
For the past 10 years he has held general manager positions at hotels in Idaho, Texas and Arizona.
Rinella will oversee a staff of more than 200 and annual revenue of more than $10 million.
Rinella started his career as director of rooms at the Sheraton Colorado Springs and later became director of operations at DoubleTree Guest Suites in Columbus, Ohio, and Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and general manager of a DoubleTree complex in Orlando, Fla.
Between his Tucson stints, he was general manager of the DoubleTree Boise Riverside, the DoubleTree Hotel El Paso Downtown, and the Nautical Beachfront Resort in Lake Havasu City.

Challender joins SAHBA
in membership services
Kim Challender was named membership services coordinator for the Southern Arizona Home Builders Association. She will oversee member relations and community outreach.
Challender most recently served as marketing director for Organic PR. Before that she was with Masco Cos., where she managed teams recognized for customer service and subcontractor excellence, SAHBA said in a news release.
She has been an active member of SAHBA and served on the Green Builders and Remodelers committee.
Truly Nolen names
Green Valley manager
David Bolton was promoted to branch manager of Truly Nolen of America Inc.’s location in Green Valley at 19193 S. Alpha Ave.
He will oversee all facets of technical management at the branch, including service protocols, development and implementation.
After 13 years in the car rental industry, most recently as a district manager in Tucson, Bolton joined Truly Nolen in May.
Holmes to lead local unit
of Arizona Forward
Mike Holmes was named acting director of Arizona Forward’s Southern Regional Council.
Arizona Forward is a business-based environmental public interest organization that advocates for sustainable growth.
Holmes was formerly the executive director for Imagine Greater Tucson, which is a founding member of Arizona Forward.
Holmes’ background includes 15 years of executive management experience in new business development and operations. He also has expertise in strategic planning and communication, marketing analysis and project management, Arizona Forward said in a news release.
Green Fields school
adds 3 faculty members
Green Fields Country Day School welcomes three new faculty members: music teacher Robin Morales, history teacher Anthony Joseph Hagmann and academic coach Meaghan M. Marshall.
Morales has more than 15 years of experience teaching music performance in Southern Arizona schools, directing both instrumental and choral programs. She earned a doctoral degree in vocal performance from the University of Arizona. She’s also a voice coach, vocalist, conductor and author of “A Performer’s Guide to the American Musical Theater Songs of Kurt Weill,” published in 2008.
Hagmann is a graduate of Columbia University with a bachelor’s degree in American history. He taught history for three years at the American School of Tangier in Morocco. He’s also taught at two public charter schools, Desert Marigold High School in Phoenix and Great Hearts Academies / Mesa Preparatory Academy in Mesa.
Marshall previously taught at Laguna Elementary in the Flowing Wells School District and worked summers at the Tucson Children’s Museum. She has a master’s degree in special education from the University of Arizona and a bachelor’s degree from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. She’s a behavioral support specialist trained in the Bal-A-Vis-X program, a new program at Green Fields that uses rhythmic exercises to improve students’ concentration and academic performance, the school said in a news release.

Bethany Goldberg, CPA, client services manager. She holds CPA licenses in Arizona, Texas, and California and has expertise in financial statement audits and accounting services, with a focus on not-for-profit organizations and employee benefits plans.
Kaleigh Hotchkiss, CPA, senior audit associate. She has public accounting experience in audit and assurance services. Hotchkiss will be responsible for planning and executing financial statement audits, federal and state compliance audits, and preparation of financial statements.
Alice Vivaldo, CPA, tax associate. She has seven years of experience in the public accounting field, specializing in tax preparation of C-Corp, S-Corp, partnership, trust and individual returns. Vivaldo’s special focus will be in international taxation.
Jessica Raizk, senior audit associate. She specializes in for-profit and not-for-profit financial statement audits, employee benefit plan audits, overhead rate audits, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
Zimmerman signs on
with Picor brokerage
Cushman & Wakefield | Picor brokerage group hired Ron Zimmerman.
Zimmerman is a 30-year Tucson commercial real estate veteran, most recently with Newmark Grubb Knight Frank.
He has managed the disposition of hundreds of industrial, retail and office properties in Southern Arizona. He has worked with various districts of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court to liquidate commercial real estate properties.
Zimmerman continues to represent financial institutions in the disposition of commercial properties, investors searching for income properties, and represents numerous landlords and sellers of Tucson commercial real estate.
Woner joins Ninyo & Moore as environmental scientist
Kevin T. Woner has joined Ninyo & Moore’s Tucson office as a project environmental scientist.
Woner brings more than 10 years of experience in the Arizona marketplace. His experience includes environmental due diligence assessments, subsurface investigations, hazardous building materials surveys and abatement oversight.
Woner earned his bachelor’s degree in environmental science from the University of Arizona, and is OSHA and First On Scene 8-Hour Hazardous Materials certified.
