I repeat ... there is a festival where you can eat unlimited tacos. And it is coming up May 7.
Mero Mero Taquero is brought to you Rob Betancourt, the man behind Bacon Fest and the Michelada Challenge. His latest effort will be at Casino del Sol, and will feature 25 different taqueros, a Spanish word that basically means taco guy. (And if you're a "mero mero" taquero, you're basically a badass taco guy, the best around.)
Local restaurants Reforma, Boca Tacos and Tequila, Street Taco & Beer Co., Taqueria Porfis, Charro Steak, and Taqueria El Semental will all participate. A $34 ticket includes unlimited samples and six margarita tickets. There will also be live music, assorted games and a demonstration stage with chefs preparing tacos, tortillas and salsa.

Just in case you were wondering, Mero Mero Taquero is the first of its kind and is not to be confused with the Tucson Taco Festival a few years back.
The festival is at Casino del Sol, 5655 W. Valencia Road from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday May 7. VIP admission starts at 3 p.m.
