Tucson's Golden Boots will play what appears to be their last local gig of 2007 at Plush next Thursday.
The ultra-alt-country-folksters will be wrapping up a stellar year that saw the release of a fantastic album, "Burning Brain," on notable indie label Park The Van Records and a national tour with Magnolia Electric Co.
Judging from Golden Boots' history with output, 2008 should be another busy year.
Opening will be Mad River Glenn and The Blank Tapes at 9:30 p.m. Admission is $5.

Cagle at Cactus Moon for benefit Wednesday
Country singer Chris Cagle tries to define the various stages of "gone" on his latest single, "What Kinda Gone."
Is she gone for good? Good and gone? Gone for the day? Gone for the rest of my life?
It's the first cut off his forthcoming 2008 album of the same name, his first studio album in three years.
And it will likely be one of the highlights when he performs it Wednesday at the Cactus Moon in a benefit concert for KIIM's (99.5-FM) annual Penny Pitch Concert. Proceeds from the $5 ticket price benefit Arizona's Children Association.
The concert begins at 8 p.m. at Cactus Moon, 5470 E. Broadway. Tickets are available from KIIM, 575 W. Roger Road; 887-1000.

Stevie Wonder playing in Glendale on Sunday
R&B legend Stevie Wonder is making a rare live appearance at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale at 8 p.m. Sunday.
It's tough to turn your back on the chance to hear songs like "My Cherie Amour," "You Are the Sunshine of My Life," and "Boogie On Reggae Woman" live, even for between $39.85 and $119.85 per ticket from Ticketmaster.com.
And Wonder's still got it, according to a recent concert review on tennessean.com: "His best material has as much currency today as it did back when he was becoming a household name at Motown in the '60s and '70s."
