• Sam Moore - of the hit-making duo Sam and Dave, who recorded for Memphis' Stax-Volt Records in the 1960s and '70s - lives in Scottsdale and is a neighbor of Zelisko and Cooper. He made Rolling Stone's list of the 100 greatest singers of the rock era.
• Jerry Riopelle was well-known to Tucsonans in the 1970s and 1980s when his Phoenix- and L.A.-based band played local clubs and concert halls. His sold-out New Year's Eve shows were a fixture in Tucson for years.
• Delta and county blues singer Keb' Mo' won a Grammy for his second album, "Just Like You," in 1996, with guest appearances by Browne and Raitt. He's been involved in the No Nukes group and the Vote for Change organization with Raitt.
• Singer-songwriter Jennifer Warnes is probably best known for her duet with Joe Cocker on "Up Where We Belong," from the 1982 film "An Officer and a Gentleman," and with Bill Medley on "The Time of My Life" from 1987's "Dirty Dancing."

• Singer-songwriter Dar Williams has had a strong career on the folk circuit with many collaborations, and was a member of the trio Cry Cry Cry with Richard Shindell and Lucy Kaplansky, who played the Berger Center in Tucson several years ago.
