With less than six months until rows of white tents overtake the University of Arizona mall, applications for presenters and vendors at the 2027 Tucson Festival of Books are now open.
In a tradition dating back to 2009, the annual festival is a hub of book signings, panels of esteemed authors and live entertainment speckled with local vendors.
Application deadlines for those wanting to take part in the March 13-14 event stretch from October through November:
— With cash prizes on the line, writers of all kinds get the chance to have their work evaluated by literary professionals in the Literary Awards Competition. Applications are due by Oct. 31
— Those hoping to be among the many performing on stages big and small along the mall must apply by Oct. 31. Entertainers of all sorts are welcome.

— Want a spot selling food for thought? Food and drink vendors must apply by Oct. 31.
— Businesses and organizations offering primarily books and book-related merchandise looking to set up shop under a white tent must apply by Nov. 23. Exhibitor applications are subject to committee review.
— To get a good reaction to your application for a spot inside the bustling boroughs of Science City, apply by Nov. 24. Student clubs, industries, academic programs, non-profits, museums, researchers and arts organizations that advance STEM literacy through hands-on educational activities are welcome.
