Create beautiful soap rolls at a fraction of the cost of the ones you see at spas.
All you need are the soap ingredients, a kettle or a microwave and something to tie the rolls together.
You can also make herbal soap rolls by adding suspension formula and herbs, which can be found at any Michaels store.
Making the soap rolls
● Cut apart the clear soap brick into cubes with a knife and put them into the soap kettle. One soap brick makes four cups of liquid soap.
If you're using the soap kettle, follow the kettle manufacturer's directions for melting the soap. If using the microwave, follow the soap label's directions.
● Once the soap is melted, carefully ladle about two cups into a glass measuring cup.

Add soap fragrance to the melted soap and stir with a wooden spoon. Add a small amount of soap coloring after the fragrance has been stirred in.
● Pour the melted soap into a cookie or jellyroll sheet (yes, the sides will be high enough; the soap layer will be very thin) and spray with rubbing alcohol to remove air bubbles. Let the soap set almost completely for about 15 minutes.
● While you are waiting for the clear soap to cool down, melt the white soap brick.
● After the white soap has melted, spray the clear soap that's in the cookie sheet with rubbing alcohol. Rubbing alcohol will help the layers stick to each other.
● Immediately pour the melted white soap into the cookie sheet over the clear soap and spray with rubbing alcohol again to remove bubbles.
When pouring the white soap, pour the soap all around the sheet; do not pour it in one spot or the first layer will melt.
● Let the soap cool for about 15 minutes, but do not let the soap set completely. The soap must be slightly warm and pliable in order to roll it.
● Once the soap is cool enough to roll, cut the soap away from the sides of the cookie sheet with a knife. Then cut the soap long ways into thirds.
● Working quickly, take one soap strip out of the sheet and place on a clean surface, clear side down.
● Use a knife to cut the edges of both short sides of the strip at 45 degree angles for a decorative effect.
Bend the cut edge over once and press down a bit.
● Roll the soap as tightly as possible.
● Tightly wrap the finished soap roll in plastic wrap. Use scissors to remove any extra plastic wrap.
● Repeat with remaining soap strips.
● Tie ribbon or raffia around the rolls to decorate.
