Why are you running for office: Residents of Arizona’s first district are experiencing high rates of unemployment, housing shortages, limited access to quality education, and struggle to find adequate health care. My vision is to empower and strengthen families by securing vital community resources to attract more industries that create jobs that pay higher than livable wages, expanding on the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 to improve the quality of education and working to stop Congress from raiding Social Security and Medicare benefits.
The last several years I have secured millions to support the mission to eradicate homelessness among veterans, supported the ESSA of 2015 to end the No Child Left Behind Act, actively backed the Greater Grand Canyon Heritage National Monument, worked to protect water resources for Arizona’s agricultural industry, and acquired funding to guarantee access to quality health care services in rural communities.
I’m willing to trade the comfort of my private life for the dysfunction and disrepair of public life because Arizona, her first district, and our nation, are worth the struggle. My vision is to move the country forward with innovation and change, not take it back.
