ST. CHARLES  •  A St. Charles man has been arrested after police say he became angry with his live-in girlfriend and rammed her car with his pickup several times while the couple's 1-year-old son was in her car.
Wayne Robert Rodrigues, 37, of the 1100 block of Olive Street, was charged with felony domestic assault, property damage, endangering the welfare of a child and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.
According to police, Rodriques became enraged for an unknown reason Saturday while the couple was returning from Illinois. When they got to their home, the woman told police she was frightened, so she drove away with her son after Rodriques exited the car.
Rodriques got into his 1993 Ford Ranger and began chasing the woman, who was driving a 2001 Hyundai. Rodrigues rammed the rear of the Hyundai and later passed the car and rammed the front end, causing the woman to stop. Rodriguez jumped out of his truck and began pounding on the woman's car window, trying to get in, so the woman put the car into reverse and fled to a nearby home, where she called police.
