A free public talk titled, "A History of Medical Education in the United States," is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15 at the Tucson area Academy Village retirement community.
Dr. Neil Kochenour, former medical director of the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics and a resident of Academy Village, will be the speaker. The talk is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. in the Great Room of the Arizona Senior Academy building in Academy Village, which is located at 13701 E. Spanish Trail six miles southeast of Saguaro National Park East.
Kocheour is expected to describe significant changes in the evolving field of medical education over the years.
Kochenour received his medical degree from the Cornell University of College of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, and a fellowship in maternal/fetal medicine at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.

He became medical director of the University of Utah's hospitals and clinics in 1994 and served in that position for 12 years. He now periodically serves as an expert witness in medical litigation cases.
At Academy Village he manages of the entity that provides wellness and home health services in the community.
