A man was killed and a woman was had minor injuries following a single-vehicle wreck Friday afternoon southwest of Tucson, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
Terry Spivey, 73, was killed in the wreck Veta Spivey, 76, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, officials said Monday in a news release.
The wreck occurred about 1:15 p.m. on South Westover Avenue, south of West Valencia, officials say.
Officials believe the crash was prompted by Terry Sliver, the driver, suffering a "medical event."
"(Terry Spivey) likely suffered a medical event, lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and struck a tree," the release said. "Neither speed nor impairment are suspected at this time."
The investigation continues.
