As "The Diplomat" star Allison Janney took home the Emmy for best supporting actress in a drama series Monday night, she said the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie is still on her mind.
"I honestly can say I think about her every day and think about the loss and what Savannah and her family are going through," Janney told news outlets in a virtual press room. "I don't think I'm alone too. I think all of America was thinking about her."

Nancy Guthrie, 84, a retired University of Arizona communications professional and the mother of NBC co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, was last seen alive on the evening of Saturday, Jan. 31, at her Tucson home, according to authorities. On Feb. 1, a churchgoer told her family she failed to show up for an online church viewing. Investigators later recovered video footage from a security camera at Nancy Guthrie's front door showing a masked, armed man; the Pima County Sheriff's Department later released to the public two ransom notes received by the family.

Savannah Guthrie marked her mother's six-month disappearance in an emotional plea in August. "There is a way to end this situation and do the right thing," she shared on social media before urging someone to come forward.

Janney, an Oscar winner for her role in "I, Tonya," previously showed her support for the "Today" show host on social media ahead of the two-month mark after Nancy Guthrie's disappearance. Janney emphasized how she kept thinking about Nancy and how "every day I hope for a break in this case."
A reward totaling more than $1.2 million has been offered for information about Nancy Guthrie's recovery.
Savannah Guthrie most recently returned to the morning show on Sept. 8. She previously stepped away from the table this summer to film a game show based on Wordle. Guthrie also took a two-month hiatus earlier this year after her mother disappeared on Feb. 1.
Janney plays President Grace Penn in the political drama "The Diplomat." The win marks her eighth statuette, tying the record for most Emmys won by any performer. Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who Janney plans to star opposite in Broadway's "Other Desert Cities," also has eight acting Emmys along with Cloris Leachman. Jean Smart joined the eight-time Emmy winner club on Monday, with her acting win as the unfiltered comedy vet in "Hacks."
