Whether it’s a barbecue, a picnic, parade or graveside gathering, Tucsonans will spend Memorial Day weekend doing a variety of things — but being cold isn’t one of them.
Weekend highs in Tucson will hover around the low 90s on Saturday and Sunday, but will rise to nearly 100 degrees come Memorial Day, according to the National Weather Service.
Those near-100 degree highs should remain throughout next week, meteorologists say, with clear skies ushering in a quickly approaching summer season in Tucson.
Lows are expected to be between the high 50s and lid 60s throughout the weekend.
With hot weather starting to impact much of Arizona, the state Department of Transportation recommends that Memorial Day weekend travelers prepare an emergency prep kit for their vehicles, including extra drinking water. Other items to consider toting are blankets, a first-aid kit, a flashlight, extra batteries, a fully charged cellphone and charger, snacks and a small tool kit.
