2 killed in 1-19 crash were from Phoenix
The two people killed in a single-vehicle rollover Sunday have been identified as Fernando Mazcot Reyes, and Maria De Jesus Cruz-Correa, both of Phoenix, police said.
They were in a 1995 Ford Explorer with two other people about 1 p.m. when the driver lost control of the vehicle, running into the median and rolling over on Interstate 19 near Green Valley, said Officer Quentin Mehr, an Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman.
Reyes, 53, and Cruz-Correa, 62, died at the scene, Mehr said. The driver, 25, and a 51-year-old passenger survived and were taken to a hospital.
All four passengers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, Mehr said.

DUI patrols will aim for safe graduations
The Pima County Sheriff's Department will deploy special DUI patrols this month as part of Operation Safe Graduation, officials said.
As students graduate and celebrate with friends and relatives, alcohol and drug consumption increase, said Deputy Jason Ogan a department spokesman.
Deputies will be deployed to assigned areas looking for impaired drivers, respond to large parties, and monitor liquor stores to prevent the sale of alcohol to minors, Ogan said.
There will be drunken-driving checkpoints and saturated DUI patrols throughout unincorporated county areas, he said.

Docs in Loughner case don't need to appear
The doctors who evaluated the competency of Jared Lee Loughner need not testify in a federal court hearing scheduled for May 25, says a document filed Monday in U.S. District Court.
Loughner's attorneys said in the filing that they had discussed with prosecutors whether Drs. Christina Pietz and Matthew Carroll must attend the hearing, or if lawyers can rely on their written reports. Both sides agreed to rely on the written reports, the defense filing said.
Loughner is charged with 49 crimes in the Jan. 8 shooting spree that left six people dead and 13 injured, including U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. He has pleaded not guilty.
U.S. District Judge Larry A. Burns has ordered the two sides to present arguments at the May 25 hearing on whether Loughner is competent to help his attorneys or to understand the charges against him.
