The Tangelos will perform tonight with special guest Haeley Vaughn in the Civano Neighborhood Center courtyard, 10501 E. Seven Generations Way.
Formerly known as Joshua Butcher and the Melancholy, The Tangelos' hard-hitting acoustic, folksy rock mixed with their melancholy love songs secured them the winning spot in the 2007 Acoustic Battle of the Bands.
Vaughn, a 16-year-old singer from Colorado who made it into the top 20 of this season's "American Idol," will perform during the break. In Tucson visiting her grandmother, Vaughn has a big, soulful voice, an extremely positive attitude and an infectious smile.
The Tangelos and Vaughn will perform from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Suggested donation is $5. Please bring a lawn chair. You may also bring a picnic dinner, but no alcohol please.
On Saturday, the Western Music Association's 2009 Performer of the Year, Juni Fisher, will perform at the Abounding Grace Sanctuary, 2450 S. Kolb Road.
