Favorite class: Orchestra.
Chris has played viola for six years and enjoys the variety of music he can play in his class.
Activities in school: He has a busy schedule that includes forensics, advanced American literature, U.S. and Arizona history, algebra and Spanish.
Activities outside of school: Chris works about 20 hours a week as a server in a dining room at Amber Lights retirement community.
"It's fulfilling," he said of his interaction with residents.
He also is teaching himself how to play a Yamaha piano by using a book.

So far, he can play a few songs, including some tunes by The Beatles.
Who would you have lunch with if you could have lunch with anyone (living or dead)? He would dine with American writer Edgar Allan Poe.
Chris would like to know what emotions were behind some of the man's poems.
What books are you reading now? He's reading the third book, "Life, the Universe and Everything," in the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams.
"It's sort of a comedy," he said. "It goes into science fiction and is outside the Earth making fun of the beliefs of today."
Whom do you admire most? His role models are his parents, George and Teresa Deuel.
His best friend, Aubrey Renaut, also is a positive person in his life.
What's your favorite song? "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas.
Plans after high school: He wants to attend the University of California-Santa Cruz.
Dream job: Marine biologist.
Dream car: Ferrari 360 Spider.
Favorite place in Tucson: Bookmans.
"They sell a lot of interesting things that people don't seem to want," he said.
Hidden talents: He surfs.
Chris has an aunt and uncle who live near Santa Cruz, Calif., and he visits them once a year during the summer to surf.
Vouch: "He's brilliant," his father George said. "He's a unique child."
