The world's largest dog met the nation's largest city Wednesday.
George, the 43-inch-tall, 245-pound Great Dane who resides in Tucson, traveled with owner Dave Nasser to the Big Apple to appear on "Live with Regis and Kelly" Wednesday.
The event was tied to the release of the "Guinness World Records 2011" book, in which George is included.
George met Boo Boo, a 4-inch-tall Chihuahua hailing from Raceland, Ky.
Guinness World Records judge Stuart Claxton took formal measurements of both dogs to verify their record heights.
The appearance continues George's string of success in the national media. He appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in February and earned a book deal in April.
Nasser said the appearance on "Regis and Kelly" went well but lasted less than a minute because the show was so rushed.

Nasser said George and Boo Boo were fast friends.
"Initially he didn't quite know what to think. He didn't know whether she was a dog or not," Nasser said. "But they were friendly."
Nasser said "Today" show anchor Meredith Vieira posed for a photo with George backstage at the show.
