A red flag warning has been issued today across most of Southern Arizona, including Tucson, the weather service says.
A combination of strong winds, dry conditions and low humidity will produce widespread wildfire conditions across counties in the area. Those include: eastern Pima; southeastern Pinal; Cochise; Santa Cruz; Graham; and Greenlee. The warning Tuesday is set from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m, the National Weather Service in Tucson said on Monday.
Wildfire weather conditions will continue into Thursday for Cochise, Santa Cruz, Graham and Greenlee counties.
Winds Tuesday could be sustained at 20 to 30 mh, with gusts in Cochise Graham and Greenlee counties reaching about 50 mph.
High temperatures in the metro area also will be five to 10 degrees below normal later this week, dipping into the upper 60s in Tucson.
