2 police chiefs accused of digging celeb dirt
MARTINS FERRY — A special prosecutor said Wednesday that he is reviewing findings of an investigation of two eastern Ohio police chiefs accused of doing celebrity digging for tabloid material.
State agents have been looking into allegations that the chiefs illegally entered a home in May to obtain information about a woman carrying twins for actors Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick. The surrogate mother, who gave birth in June, was not home at the time.
"Once I'm done with the review, chances are I would not file charges directly," Harrison County Prosecutor T. Shawn Hervey told The Associated Press. "The next available grand jury is July 29, so that's where I'll go if charges do arise."

Clinic of Jacko's doc searched for papers
HOUSTON — Authorities searched the Houston clinic of Michael Jackson's doctor Wednesday, and his attorney said they were seeking evidence of manslaughter.
Dr. Conrad Murray had been interviewed by police as a witness to the pop star's death but has not been considered a suspect. Police have said little about the probe, neither confirming nor denying the possibility of criminal charges.
Los Angeles police and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents went through the Armstrong Medical Clinic Wednesday for about 2 1/2 hours. Authorities said they were searching for documents.
"The search warrant authorized law enforcement to search for and seize items, including documents, they believed constituted evidence of the offense of manslaughter," Ed Chernoff, Murray's attorney, said in a statement posted on his law firm's Web site.

Houston credits her daughter in comeback
NEW YORK — Whitney Houston says her daughter's support helped fuel her as she geared up for her comeback record.
"She was with me every step of the way: 'Mom, you can do this.' When I get discouraged and I get like, 'This is tiring, this is wearing me out, I'm just not at that point,' she'd just go, 'No, Mom, you can do this, get up, get up,' " Houston said of 15-year-old Bobbi Kristina in an interview on Tuesday.
"She encourages me and inspires me. When I look at her and I look at her eyes and I see myself, I go, 'OK, I can do this. I can do this.' "
Houston, 44, is releasing "I Look to You" on Sept. 1. It's her first album in years on Arista Records. On Tuesday evening, she premiered several tracks before an industry audience that included her only child, mother Cissy Houston, cousin Dionne Warwick, Alicia Keys and Diane Sawyer.
Stephen Baldwin files for Chapter 11
NEW YORK — Court records show actor Stephen Baldwin is millions of dollars in debt and has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
A filing Tuesday in federal court in New York shows Baldwin owes $1.2 million in two mortgages on a property about 30 miles north of New York City valued at $1.1 million. The document shows he also owes more than $1 million in taxes and has about $70,000 in credit-card debt.
His wife, Kennya Baldwin, is also named in the filing.
Baldwin has been in films including "The Usual Suspects." Last month he left the Costa Rican set of NBC's "I'm a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!" after he said he got more than 125 insect bites in eight days.
